FEDERAL ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION

New York Independent System Operator, Inc.Docket Nos. ER12-1653-000

ER12-1653-001

NOTICE OF EXTENSION OF TIME
(November 29, 2012)

On November 20, 2012, New York Independent System Operator, Inc. (NYISO)
filed a request for an extension of time until January 22, 2013 to submit a compliance
filing, in the above-referenced proceeding, as directed by the Commission’s November 6,
2012 Order.1  NYISO states that an extension until January 22, 2013 is necessary in order
to develop its compliance proposal, seek stakeholder comment, finalize the proposal, and
develop an implementation plan.  Additionally, NYISO states that the implementation
plan will likely include software code revisions, which will need to be developed before
NYISO can completely respond to the Commission’s November 6, 2012 Order.

On November 27, 2012, Beacon Power, LLC (Beacon Power) submitted an

answer opposing NYISO’s request for an extension of time.  Beacon Power requests that, if the Commission grants NYISO’s request for an extension of time, the Commission “mandate that NYISO propose, by December 6, 2012, an imminent date-certain for
implementation of the new tariffs.”

Upon consideration, notice is hereby given that NYISO is granted an extension of time to and including January 22, 2013, to submit the compliance filing required in the November 6, 2012 Order.
